The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) information secretary Dr Nafisa Shah said on Saturday that substantial hurdles were created during the election drive of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Dr Nafisa Shah, who has won the recent general election for NA-208, addressed the media and expressed serious reservations over lack of level-playing field for all candidates, and said that in 2013, hidden forces paved a way for Nawaz Sharif and this time, elections’ path was cleared for Imran Khan.
“Despite of such hurdles and a lack of equality of opportunity to PPP, the party secured remarkable success in Sindh,” she said as PPP activists sprinkled flower petals and offered prayers on the graves of martyred Bhutto leaders in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh.
She asserted that despite of ‘serious’ reservations, PPP would still join opposition bench in parliament.
Responding to a question about the party’s choice between Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari to lead opposition in the parliament, she replied that it would be decided by the party.
She further said that there would be a consensus among members of PPP to appoint the next chief minister of Sindh.
She criticised Grand Democratic Alliance for contesting the general elections with an aim to divide Sindh, and said that the people of Sindh had rejected their agenda.
