BAHAWALPUR: The government has launched compulsory reading of the Quran from first class to fifth class and translation from grade VI to X11.
The inauguration ceremony of the project was held at Bahawalpur on Monday, where State Minister of Education Balighur Rehman was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, he hoped that the move would be helpful in the elimination of sectarianism from the society. He said that the project would be extended to the entire country in phases. He said the step has been taken in consultation with all stakeholders, Council of Islamic Ideology, Wafaqi Tanzeemul Madaris and education ministers of all provinces.
