PEHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Inspector General (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani took strong notice of the aerial firing incident during the marriage ceremony of a SHO and suspended him with immediate effect while ordering further departmental action.
According to details, an aerial firing incident in the marriage ceremony of City Police Station Tank Sub Inspector Tariq Saleem killed a 13-year-old child.
The father and relatives of the deceased child considered the incident as unintentional and did not report it while pardoning the accused. However local police registered a case.
The incident was brought into the notice of the IGP who took strong action and immediately suspended Tariq and ordered departmental inquiry against him for major punishment.
The IGP also charge sheeted the SHO of Parova police station, in whose jurisdiction the incident took place.
