Punjab Government imposed section-144 for seven days on Friday, as a part of its preparations of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman’s visit to Pakistan.
A notification for Section-144 in the city from February 15 to February 21 has been issued. Section 144 bans public gatherings of five or more people. Meanwhile, processions and rallies in any public place within the limits of the area where the law has been imposed are also not allowed. The ban has also been imposed on carrying or displaying weapons.
Furthermore, a ban on pillion riding will also be imposed in the federal capital on February 16 and February 17 during the crown prince’s visit.
Additionally, the Metrobus service to Faizabad will also be temporarily suspended during the two-day visit. The authorities have issued alternate routes for those using the bus service.
The Saudi Crown Prince is due to land in Pakistan today. Upon his arrival, Prince Muhammad will be presented with a guard of honour at the Prime Minister House, followed by an important meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to details, Pakistan Airforce (PAF)’s Sherdil Squadron, comprising of the cutting-edge JF-17 Thunder aircraft will give an airborne salute to the dignitaries.
Luxury vehicles for crown prince’s use will be transported from Saudi Arabia while the federal government has already booked 300 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado vehicles for the visiting delegation.
The 100-member delegation will call on President Arif Alvi on February 17 where the royal guest will be honoured with a luncheon at the President House.
