ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Mushahidullah Khan on Friday said that the information minister, Fawad Chaudhry, must apologise to him for his ‘derogatory remarks’ in the parliament a day earlier.
The information minister had taken a jibe at previous governments of PPP and PML-N saying they looted the public money and recruited their favourite ones in state institutions. He also alleged that Mushahidullah appointed his brother and cousin in top posts in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) when his party was in rule.
In a Senate session held today, the PML-N leader moved a privilege motion against Chaudhry’s remarks and said that the Prime Minister Imran Khan has to remove the information minister from his post.
While addressing the session, Mushahidullah said that the information minister’s allegations were based on lies. “If Fawad Chaudhry fails to provide evidence, then he will have to issue an apology on the floor of the House,” said the senator.
Moreover, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Maula Bux Chandio also voiced against the information minister’s heated speech in the assembly saying “If you mock opposition members then we will not let you go easily”.
The information minister had apologised to the opposition after they staged a brief walkout from the session in protest over his “derogatory remarks” yesterday.
