ISLAMABAD: A larger bench headed by Chief Justice Supreme Court Anwar Zaheer Jamali resumed hearing of Panama Leaks case today on the petitions filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and other parties.
After ending today’s hearing, the SC bench has directed both parties to decide on the formation of a commission. The commission will comprise of one judge who shall be able to call anyone as part of the investigation.
After ending today’s hearing, it was evident that the Chief Justice and the members of the bench are unsatisfied with the evidences submitted by PTI in the court. The bench, following the legal procedures have categorically said that content downloaded from the internet or media reports cannot be considered as evidence and verdict cannot be given based on them.
Justice Asif Saeed Khosa further added that the documents submitted by prime minister’s legal team do not answer the questions we asked.
The hearing of the case has been adjourned till December 09 so that both parties can do the necessary consultation regarding formation of the commission.
