Capital police arrested 87 suspects, including Afghan nationals, during search operations in different parts of the city on Wednesday.
Police have shifted the suspects to different police stations. Sources told Daily Times that police also took in possession as many as 276 motorcycles and nine vehicles due to lack of documents. Nine professional beggars were also arrested.
Aabpara police arrested a suspect during patrolling and recovered four bottles of liquor from him. Golra police nabbed two persons, Muhammad Iqbal and Afzal Khan, for selling petrol without permission.
Karachi Company police also arrested a suspected allegedly involved in a theft case.
Shalimar police arrested a suspect during patrolling and recovered a 30-bore pistol and ammunition from him.
Meanwhile, SSP Operations Sajid Kiyani has said that all these measures are aimed at providing protection to the citizens and ensuring their safety and security. Kiyani also directed police officers to conduct patrolling in their respective areas regularly to keep situation of law and order in control.
