ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has postponed his address to the nation on Sunday, sources said.
According to the details, PM Imran wanted to take the nation into confidence regarding important initiatives of the government against corruption. Sources added that few senior leaders suggested him to not release the video message to avoid the legal complications. It is pertinent to mention here that PM Imran, on August 27, had said that curbing corruption and retrieving wealth of the country, amassed through illegal means and laundered abroad, were among the biggest challenges for the government. PM Imran had made the remarks during a detailed briefing on the Ministry of Interior and its attached department at Prime Minister’s Office. On October 3, Adviser to PM on Establishment Mohammad Shehzad Arbab along with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Mirza Shahzad Akbar co-chaired a special meeting to launch an anti-corruption drive in line with vision of PM Imran Khan.
