BAHWALPUR: Police have arrested Iqbal Zahid Hanjra, reportedly a close aide of PML-N’s former MPA Khalid Mehmood Jajja, for brutally torturing a forest guard three years ago in a village 62-DB Tehsil Yazman .
According to reports, the incident of torture took place in January 2015. The victim filed an FIR against the accused but no action was taken.
However, after the video of the torture went viral on social media, the victim filed an FIR seeking an action be taken against the accused under anti-terrorism act.
Following this, police arrested the man and registered two cases against him which also included the section of anti-terrorism act.
It was reported that the guard was subjected to the brutal torture as he was trying to stop the accused from illegal logging.
