ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday said Prime Minister Imran Khan clearly presented his stance on relations between Pakistan and India, ‘but it takes two hands to clap’.
“For peace within country, peace across the region is necessary. PM Imran has said it loud and clear that if Indian takes once step towards Pakistan, Pakistan will take two. However, it takes two hands to clap,” Qureshi said while addressing a press-conference after PM Imran’s visit to the foreign ministry.
Qureshi said that for maintenance of peace across the region, a stable Afghanistan is vital. “Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has made some positive moves and now it is up to Pakistan to help the neighbours along the way,” the FM said.

Talking about Pak-US relations, Qureshi said the two countries have had long-standing bilateral relations, and to improve troubled ties between Pakistan and the United States, the PTI leader said, it was necessary to understand Washington’s Afghan needs and role.
He also said that the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will visit Pakistan on September 5.
Qureshi also talked about Pakistan’s ‘exemplary’ relations with all-weather friend China, adding that upon Chinese foreign minister’s arrival in the country on September 9, several matters including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will be thoroughly discussed.
The PTI leader also urged the institutions to work together to present a positive image of Pakistan worldwide.
